The CODIP air operated cylinder diaphragm pump is an oscillating positive displacement pump in which the fluid is housed in a double cylinder jacket for optimum safety. The pumped medium is surrounded by a jacketed inner fluid. This results in smooth delivery and distribution of forces over the entire cylinder jacket for optimum service life even under difficult operating conditions. It is possible to operate the pump with nitrogen as the drive medium. This requires a completely closed and isolated environment with sufficient ventilation at the pump installation site.
CODIP cylindrical diaphragm pumps have been developed to cope with difficult pumping tasks with aggressive abrasive and explosive chemicals. Viscosities up to 25,000 mPas, maximum liquid temperatures up to 180 °C, maximum discharge pressures up to 10 bar (150 psi) allow a wide range of applications ensuring safe pumping of environmentally hazardous, toxic and health-endangering liquids under maximum safety conditions.
An independent automatic air distributor (F) supplies air pressure to one side of a flat rubber diaphragm (D). An inert liquid (E) transmits this pressure uniformly to the tubular diaphragm (B) which leads to closing of the suction side ball valve (C). At the same time the pressure side ball valve (C) opens and medium is conveyed into the pressure line. In the suction cycle the diaphragm (D) automatically returns to its initial position, a vacuum is created and the cylinder diaphragm (B) relaxes. The ball valve (C) on the pressure side closes, the ball valve (C) on the suction side opens and medium flows into the cylinders.
